Welcome Back Associates!

COVID Opening and Control Plan

The purpose of this plan is to provide guidelines and procedures to help control the possibility of the introduction of a virus into the shop and to minimize the spread of any virus should it be introduced into the shop. As Missouri and Jackson County begin to allow the re-opening of businesses, Southeast is planning a gradual process of opening the shop to associates in a safe and deliberate way.

Southeast has assembled a “Power-up Task Force” that has been studying the State, County, DESE, OSHA, CDC, and our workers compensation guidelines to best discern the protocols that will help keep all Southeast personnel safe and minimize the risk of introducing or spreading an infectious virus.

Current Protocols

For the past six weeks, Southeast has maintained a production crew of staff only. Within the past three weeks, six to eight Associates with their own private transportation have consistently been part of our production force. During this time, the shop has remained virus-free. We practice the following protocols daily:

  • Limit the number of individuals in the building at one time
  • Take temperatures at the door
  • Do not allow access to any individual showing signs or symptoms of illness
  • Practice social distancing (at least 6 ft. of separation)
  • Wash hands frequently
  • Use hand sanitizer and sanitizer wipes frequently
  • Wear face coverings
  • Wear gloves and change them multiple times during the day
  • Sanitize all bathrooms, common horizontal surfaces, doorknobs, switches, handles 2 times during the day
  • Quarantine incoming product and supplies on the dock for 24 hrs. before opening them

Re-opening Phase-in Protocols

We will continue practicing the protocols above. In addition, the following steps and procedures are being taken as more individuals safely enter the shop:

  • Orange cones will be positioned outside the building for vehicles to queue up to and wait for attendants to call them forward
  • Individuals will enter the building one at a time and have temperatures taken in the vestibule
  • Those who are not wearing face masks will be given one
  • Hands will be immediately washed after securing personal items in locker and gloves put on
  • All Associates will train on protocols for the first 30 minutes of the workday
    • Handwashing (20 seconds) and hand wipes/sanitizers with a minimum of 60% alcohol
    • How social distancing will be maintained
    • Proper hygiene
    • Handling of face masks/ gloves throughout the day, during breaks and lunch
    • Up to date information on COVI-19 risk factors
    • Bloodborne pathogens
  • Sanitizing will be increased to 3 times/day
  • Hand washing signs are posted at hand washing stations
  • Social distancing and traffic flow directional reminders are on the floor in common traffic areas
  • Break & Lunchroom
    • Staggered shifts for break and lunch
    • Tables that normally sit 12 individuals will have no more than 3 at a table. Chairs are taped with visual markers indicating where to sit
    • Multiple microwaves have been removed and only 4 are available
    • Two staff will supervise the break room and one staff will supervise the locker area to ensure proper social distancing and traffic flow
    • Tables will be sanitized between each break & lunch
  • Water fountains have been shrink-wrapped and off-limits. Associates will be given water bottles to reuses and fill at the sinks
