Southeast Enterprises is a community. A community of people that work together to provide a safe work environment and challenging employment opportunities for Jackson County citizens who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Southeast Enterprises is under the banner of “Sheltered Workshop” defined as a “facility-based day programs attended by adults with disabilities as an alternative to working in the open labor market.”
Southeast Enterprises is not “sheltered.” We create a community for over 155 individual Associates that supports the economic and social well-being of our Associates and comprehensive services that help our Associates with motivation, confidence and life-skills.
At Southeast Enterprises we teach these Associates about self-care, give them opportunities to flourish around peers and create a support group to encourage and foster pro-social behaviors.
Our Associates can pick their schedules, are transported to and from work, encouraged to take community classes and participate in community activities. Southeast associates have a safe place to go during the day leading to a sense of self-worth and accomplishment and the ability to say, “I worked today.”
Southeast Enterprises is a community. A community of over 155 Associates, families, staff and volunteers that provides a positive atmosphere, creates a work-life balance, and support structure for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
